A noise assessment report has been prepared to assess the potential noise generated and resulting impact on the receiving environment as a result of the Project, both during construction and operation.

Results of the noise assessment suggests that with the implementation of standard noise control systems, the surface infrastructure will meet the necessary noise assessment goals at the nearest residences.

Wallarah 2 community newsletters have presented informaiton about predicted noise conditions including demonstrating how even in worst case westerly winds at the Tooheys Road coal handling facilities site there will be no significant impacts on residential areas of Blue Haven some 3.4 km to the east.
